Gaucher’s Disease Gene Linked to Parkinson’s Disease

Gaucher's DiseaseCarriers of a rare, genetic condition  called Gaucher’s disease, compared with the general public, have a five-times-greater risk of developing Parkinson’s disease (PD). A study from the National Institutes of Health suggests that mutations in the gene responsible for Gaucher’s disease are among the most significant risk factors found to date for PD.
